HP marked Golden Jubilee of Statehood

Golden Jubilee celebrations of 50 years of statehood of Himachal Pradesh were of great enthusiasm and fervor across the state. State level Golden Jubilee celebration at the Ridge was full of colours.

Bandaru Dattatraya Governor congratulating the people said that this small hill state had made unprecedented development in past 50 years. The dedicated leadership, strong will and hard work of the people of the state had lead to the development, he said. He said that by giving priority to education, health, electricity, water, social security roads and tribal welfare the State had achieved socio-economic goals.

Jagat Prakash Nadda National BJP President said that the people of the state were fortunate to witness this historic event. He said that development of Himachal Pradesh was a difficult and arduous. He said that the successive leaderships and hardworking people of the state converted these challenges into opportunities. The state over these years had made rapid strides in various spheres of the development, he added. 

JP Nadda said contribution of the first Chief Minister Dr Y.S. Parmar was immense and similar were of former Chief Ministers including Virbhadra Singh, Shanta Kumar, Thakur Ram Lal and Prem Kumar Dhumal. All these leaders ensured that the state forges ahead on the path of progress and prosperity.

While congratulating people of the state Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur lauded the efforts of the former Chief Ministers who despite geographical and other constraints steered this hilly state that emerged as a front runner.

Jai Ram Thakur did not forget to pay his rich tributes to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi for declaring Himachal Pradesh as eighteenth state of Union of India.

He paid tributes to the first Chief Minister of the state Dr Y.S. Parmar for laying a sound foundation for the development of this state.
