State Celebrated 72nd Republic Day at Ridge

Shimla January 26

The 72nd Republic Day was celebrated at the Ridge at Shimal. Bandaru Dattatraya Governor hoisted the national flag and witnessed march past at the state-level Republic Day function. He also inspected the parade led by Parade Commander Capt. Dheeraj Saini from 2nd Naga Regiment of Indian Army.

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur was also present on the occasion. The contingents of army, Indo-Tibet Border Police, SSB, Home Guards, ex-servicemen state police, Himachal Pradesh Postal Services, National Service Scheme Cadets participated in the parade.

The colourful cultural display was also presented on the occasion along with Tableaus highlighting various development activities of different departments of the state government.

A drama on the development activities and welfare schemes of the state government was performed by the artists of Public Relation department and one by cyber cell of Police Department.

The Governor honoured Dr. Janak Raj Medical Superintendent of Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital for his best performance in Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.

Other present included Minister Suresh Bhardwaj Urban Development, Narender Bragta Chief Whip MLAs Vinod Kumar and Balbir Verma, Mayor Satya Kaundal, Anil Khachi Chief Secretary, Sanjay Kundu Director General of Police and other senior Civil, Police and Military officers.
